What Rumi Would Say To Us Today
by Tresha Faye Haefner
All your life the cops chase you.
Kafka’s attorney
puts your life on trial.
Somewhere, someone watching you
is jealous.
You are what’s expected.
Whales sing out your name.
And the rose?
How violently it opens for your kiss.
You know when you die, you will be there
in this great love.
Along with Shamz of Tabriz
and someone else who has hurt you.
Turn off the search engine,
click the find button.
The jealous nowhere is not something
for which I can search.
It is here, in the place
where
You have already been found.
