![]() | Greg Dember: I Don't Know I Think I Fell From The Sky This is my newest CD. I've "gone solo", but that has more to do with identity than with the style of music. It's still mostly full-band arrangements, similar to the CHIEFLY sound, with lots of strings, piano, some horns. It's also amped up a bit in the rock department with drumming by James McAlister (who plays for Sufjan Stevens) and guitar/production by Matt Brown. 2008 | For more info, including audio samples, and upcoming shows, goto: http://myspace.com/gregorydember |
![]() | Chiefly: Planets Of Plenty A review from SEATTLE SOUND MAGAZINE: "Much like the smell of the first day of Spring, Chiefly has been known to cause vauge memories to resurface. With PLANETS OF PLENTY, the band makes a strong debut with haunting melodies and sentimental chord progressions. Greg Dember sings with the clarity of an actor, so when he's just a little too clever ... you notice. All in all, Chiefly creates a delightful, if nostalgic, presence." 2005 | For more info, including audio samples, goto: http://myspace.com/chiefly |
![]() | Lavish Cat: Your Dream A collaboration with Linda Ceriello, who sings lead on half the songs and harmonies on most of the rest (where I sing lead). Stylistically we were aiming for a timeless sound, which we achieved by enlisting a team of crack "jam-band" musicians and then asking them to play songs with set arrangements. One appreciator described Lavish Cat as "TV theme songs for people who don't watch TV, except every episode of Six-Feet Under." 2000 | For more info, including audio samples, goto: http://myspace.com/lavishcat |
